Carcassonne

No, not the board game.....

So much of my time recently has been spent travelling with work, it was time to get away again, but this time for a break...a week in Carcassonne, with the family.

If you've not been, it's actually a really good base to see lots of places from here - we managed La Cité, the beach at Narbonne, Gruissan and other various villages and lakes. Also, you are only around 3 hours from Barcelona if you fancied a quick trip out.

The header shot is a view from where we stayed - the morning clouds settling on the Pyrenees which on a clear day is pretty spectacular.

Carcassonne and in particular La Cité is one of the most popular tourist destinations in France and with good reason. The citadel is famous for the 3km double walls interspersed by 52 towers. We tried to walk round the walls but after an already long day, my 6 month old decided it was feed time.....

Most of the trip was shot on film so I have a few rolls which are being shipped to California this week, but for now here's the early results.

Hope you enjoy them.
